Start with your skill level

The spine of the site. Every ranking is weighted differently for a beginner than for a 4.5 player, so pick your level first.

  • Pickleball for BeginnersIf you have played fewer than a few dozen games, this is your page. We pick for forgiveness and value — a wide sweet spot matters more than power when you are still learning where the ball goes.
  • Pickleball for Intermediate PlayersYou can keep a rally going and you are starting to shape shots. Now the paddle matters more: this is where a textured carbon face and the right weight begin to change how you play.
  • Pickleball for Advanced PlayersYou already know whether you want control or power, and you can feel the difference between a 14mm and a 16mm core. This page assumes that vocabulary and picks on the details that separate the top paddles.

Paddles

One ranked table, three skill tiers. We compile the published specs, score them against a rubric that weights differently for your level, and stamp every price with the date we checked it.
