Affiliate Disclosure

Four Oh Club is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. In plain English: when you buy something through one of our links, we earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. That is how the site is funded.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases

Most of the products we recommend link to Amazon, and those links carry our Associates tag. If you click through and buy, Amazon pays us a percentage of the sale — you pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway. We never mark anything up.

How our links work

Every buy button routes through a redirect on our own domain (a /go/ link) that then sends you to Amazon with our tag attached. We use it so we can keep our outbound links tidy and measure which recommendations are useful. Outbound affiliate links carry a rel="sponsored nofollow"attribute, as Google's guidelines require.

The counts that matter — all zero

  • Sponsored placements accepted: 0. No brand has paid, and no brand can pay, to appear or rank on this site.
  • Free products accepted: 0. No manufacturer sends us gear. We have no units to be biased by.
  • Rankings changed by a commission rate: 0. When a cheaper product is the better buy, it ranks higher — even though the more expensive one would pay us more.

Prices and availability

Prices and stock are pulled live from Amazon and stamped with the date we checked them. They change constantly, and the price you see at Amazon's checkout is the one that counts. If our price data is more than 48 hours old, we hide the number rather than show a stale one — see our methodology for how that works.

Why we tell you all this

Partly because the FTC requires clear disclosure of affiliate relationships, and partly because it is the honest thing to do. Knowing how a site makes money is the first thing you should ask before trusting its recommendations — so we put the answer where you cannot miss it.
